What the hell happened?
Hello again everyone, I hope you all have missed us in the last 18 months that we have been gone. If you did, then im sure you are asking what the hell happened?
Well, a lot of stuff happened, and none of it good. At the height of EMURG around December of 2009 we were going strong, very strong. We were churning out nearly one review each day with our fantastic staff of 10 writers, then came Christmas and we lost about half of our writers. Things kept going for us a decent pace but once we hit summer we lost most of our writing staff due to summer break from college, etc. During that entire time we had been rebuilding EMURG from the ground up, trying to move away from WordPress and into something completely custom that would allow us to better meet the needs of the artists we work with and our staff members. Once summer hit and we lost most of our writing staff we decided to put all of our resources into the redesign and rebuild, our developer and designer were working hard at meeting our needs which made things really exciting. However, the excitement didnt last very long as our developer quit out of the blue and our designer just stopped working on things. This put us into a predicament in which we were not really prepared for, so we began our quest to find a suitable designer and developer to start things up with again, this time though, we tried using our connections to find someone that would be willing to do some of the work for less money than the first team did. We managed to find someone but once again things fell through for us. At this point we were seriously frustrated with how things were going and EMURG was nearly put to rest but out of nowhere we found another developer/designer team that looked fantastic. Our designer came up with a gorgeous new layout for the new EMURG and our developer was making amazing things for us on the admin side of things, finally, things were looking up and EMURG would rise once again. Fast forward about 4 months and our developer who had been unemployed found himself a job and production gradually started slowing down, eventually grinding to a halt.
This brings us to the present time, Kyle and myself finally gave up and said we were tired of dealing with this garbage and decided to rebuild EMURG on WordPress and get back into the music scene which we both love dearly. We brought Chris T. and Chris W (cfw828 to those in the new music scene) back to the team and started hammering through the huge list of things that needed to be done. We have been working tirelessly trying to get things rolling again and we finally have done it. We have a lot of cool things coming down the pipe once we get things moving again that we hope you all will enjoy. We still have a lot of work to do and we are still in need to fill in a lot of positions to fill to make EMURG successful again. If you can contribute in any way, Graphics, Reviews, Scouting, please click the contact button at the top and select Jobs.
Once again, the entire staff of EMURG thanks you for coming back to our world, and remember, Your next favorite band has just EMURG’d
