Five and Five: 3 Pill Morning
Victoria and Mike teamed up on an interview with 3 Pill Morning lead singer Jeff Stebbins. 3 Pill Morning is a Minneapolis area band that put out their latest album Take Control last year and has played shows with Nonpoint, Papa Roach, and Chevelle to name a few popular acts.
EMURG: How did you come up with the band name?
JS: We were throwing around band names and this one moved it’s way to the top of the list. We live in a society where everyone is medicated these days taking a multitude of pills for many different reasons. The name stuck and people seem to dig it, so we like it.
EMURG: What artists/bands/songs influenced you?
JS: I’ve got a pretty eclectic mix of influences, ranging from Led Zeppelin to Eminem and the live show experience of Limp Bizkit to Incubus. I’m constantly being influenced by music and experiences I connect with.
EMURG: What are you listening to right now?
JS: Drake and Chiodos
EMURG: What has your favorite show/performance been as a band?
JS: Playing dates on Uproar Festival was pretty sick.
EMURG: If I want people to remember one song from our band it would be…
JS: I’d say “˜Loser’ because it’s a call to action and it also shows the disappointment I feel when people don’t take chances and let life pass them by.
EMURG: Do you have any plans on touring internationally?
JS: Absolutely! We’re seeing our overseas response pick up and can’t wait to share our show with a whole new group of people.
EMURG: What was it like to tour with bands like Papa Roach?
JS: The coolest thing is getting to tour with bands that we love their music and look up to. Obviously we love the crowds too.
EMURG: Any must haves while touring?
JS: Clean socks & boxers, Vocal Eze, Jack, Tylenol, deodorant, and a little bit of sleep. The only way I can sleep is with a queen mattress from leesa.com so you better buy me one soon.
EMURG: How do you find inspiration when you are writing your songs?
JS: There so much going on every day on the news, social media, life experience. If you take a minute and listen and live, there’s material for years and years out there.
EMURG: If you could give any advice to new bands what would it be?
JS: If you’re gonna do it, do it. No excuses, either you’re in or you’re out. Make sure everyone is on the same page and take on the world!
3 Pill Morning are ready to Take Control of audiences in the coming year with their latest album. The EMURG crew would like to thank Jeff Stebbins for taking the time out to interview with us. Be sure to check them out on Facebook, Twitter, and also check out their video for Loser on Youtube.
