The Rising Five: Edition #10: A Second Glance, A Second Chance

Over the last few months since EMURG’s retooling, EMURGers have bared witness to 45 of the top bands anywhere, mostly bands with untapped and almost unlimited sources of potential.

For this, the special tenth version of the Rising Five, you’re going to get a second view of some of the best bands we’ve covered.

1. Aria – Purgatory : Since being covered in Edition #2, Aria has released new music and has been featured in A&R blogs, indicating that there is indeed interest to sign this talented band from Ontario. If you like VersaEmerge, this band has potential to be as good or better with a little label push.

2. Nine Lashes – Get Back : This five-piece from Birmingham started with a highly anticipated album earlier this year and have gone on to attain consistent success to the point that they’re now co-headlining an awesome tour with Sent By Ravens.

3. In My Coma – Crazy World : I reviewed their debut album Magnets & Miracles and I may be biased, but there’s something quite phenomenal about this understated three-piece from Toronto. Probably my favorite review of any CD to date on EMURG.

4. Candlelight Red – She’s Got the Look (Roxette cover) : This is such a righteous cover of this song. This badass PA band has become successful enough to feature on dates of the upcoming Rockstar Uproar festival. Congratulations. The big time is finally here, fellas.

5. Bellusira – Culprit : Bellusira was featured on Rising Five’s lucky seventh edition and they’ve been playing shows in their native Australia getting ready to become the next big thing to break out of The Land Down Under. With the charismatic, fiery personality of Crystal Ignite, it’s certainly not impossible to think that they could hit our shores before the year’s out.

I’d like to thank the EMURG fans for making sections of our website like this possible. It is with your help and your blessing that I continue to share my favorite music, both known and unknown , with you. For those of you who love this section, be prepared in the coming months to be introduced to a new dimension of The Rising Five.

This is EMURG, where music speaks volumes.

We here at EMURG, as always, appreciate your support and hope that you’re ready to be introduced really soon to five more great bands.
